Original Art - For Sale

An original artwork reflects a personal connection you have with the art - the brushstrokes and the energy in which it is painted will stand the test of time and hopefully become woven into the fabric of your life. Choosing original artwork should come from the heart but a few technical details never hurt - all my canvases are painted with rich australian made acrylic paint on the best quality canvas. I choose a particular type of canvas that is really smooth to paint on and does justice to the quality of the paint that I use. Even though acrylic paint is as tough wearing as you can get, the paintings are then coated for protection. All prices are in AUD. The copyright note obviously will not appear on the artworks.

Story about the Artwork:	Two possible stories here came to mind while I was painting: Story 1: It's Timmy's birthday and because he is impatient he's opening all his presents before the party. (this is something I would do!) It turns out that it's a magic present - look at the fireflies and fairy dust coming out of it. OR Story 2. Perhaps that's not Timmy at all. Maybe a little inquisitive cheeky turtle is opening Timmy turtle's present BEFORE the party and that's the surprise. But because it's a magical surprise it takes about 3 seconds before the present wraps itself back up...leaving the cheeky turtle both relieved and bewildered! That's the beauty of Roocci art - it's great for story telling!

Story about the Artwork:	These dogs are on their way to Barry's place. One of them has the luxury of being driven there and has done the right thing by slowing down, winding down the window and asking the other two boys if they want a lift. "No thanks" they say politely - "we've got a fancy balloon and there's no way that we, as dogs, will find it in ourselves not to destroy it in an enclosed space like a motor vehicle. See you at the party!"

Description:	The sillouette of the cattle dog is MY DOG! I created this piece after seeing my dog sit in front of the painting and thinking how cool it would be to do the sillouette of his ears the way they flop. This painting speaks to the essence of what cattle dogs would probably like to do most - round up sheep!

Story about the Artwork:	It's not every day you get to see a red tailed black cockatoo up close but one day whilst driving slowly down a rickety bush road one kinda sprung out at us on a branch. It was so big, it made the branch swing onto the road a bit. Wow - what a huge black imposing parrot. Incredible. It was not afraid of the car and continued eating while we stopped to watch it before flying majestically away. It's huge black frond is truly a sight to be admired. When I see cockatoos together (of any colour) they remind me of my brothers - annoying but fun and most importantly good company. So these two dudes are like that - comparing how tall their hair is - after an over application of hairspray.

Story about the Artwork:	We have these magnificent cockatoos that love our neighborhood and the trees, bless them. But the buggers keep attacking our tv antenna so we are constantly facing reception issues. They also eat our neighbors pergola. Personally (and probably because I will not be replacing a pergola) as an artist I find it fabulous to have them around despite the issues. I also find them the most excellent subjects to sketch - these guys hardly moved while I sketched and photographed them doing the deed. Plus I love their intelligent cheeky and varying personalities. This painting really sums that whole idea up and also makes me think of creative ways they could use their talents - like decorating!

Story about the Artwork:	A very likable koala named Ivan is having a party. Ivan's turning 10 which is a good age to have a party. Koalas can live for a lot older (like 20 years) The party is being held where the humans live near their little Aussie country town. Bunting has gone up all over the eucalyptus trees and the lights are beginning to flicker as the sun sets, and before you know it those koalas are going to be all over that eucalyptus. They will paint the town green - so watch out!

Story about the Artwork:	Ring-tailed possums are native animals to Australia! They come out late at night to feed with their young gripping to their backs. Residential areas skirt around native bush these days so possums have found human's roofs very comfortable to live in - a regular sight around the suburbs! They are also very cheeky and are very agile. I painted these guys because I thought how fun it would be to demonstrate their agility and cheekiness by swinging off an Australian icon, the thong! (or the flip-flop if you are from the US :)

Story about the Artwork:	I could think of nothing more hilarious than cheeky koalas and wombat fairies at a tea party, trying to work out how to work out what a tea-pot is, what a cupcake does and being cheeky animals, possessive over everything on the table. It seems logical that this would turn into a mad tea party where anything could happen. We have been told that it involved a lot of icing sugar.
